My project, “Nature Around Me,” aims to contribute at least 30 accepted photographs to the WordPress Photo Directory. At this stage, I have submitted 10 photographs, and 5 have been approved. My approved contributions represent progress, but I still need 25 more published photographs to reach my goal.
Alongside my photography work, I have documented my project decisions and first contribution on my website. I also introduced myself in the WordPress Slack #photos channel and asked for advice about choosing subjects that would add variety and value to the directory.
One challenge has been preparing image files that meet the submission requirements. Some copies shared through WhatsApp had reduced resolution. Resizing them changed their dimensions but did not restore the original detail. This experience helped me understand why keeping original, full-resolution photographs is important.
Before wrap-up, I need to take and select more photographs, follow up on moderation results, and apply any feedback I receive. I also need to complete the remaining community activities and keep my website and personal report updated. I plan to discuss my remaining workload and timeline with my mentor so I can work toward the project goal realistically.
